Jiuzhaigou Valley, reputed as a "fairyland", officially as "Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve",  lies in Jiuzhaigou County, northwest of Sichuan Province in the southern part of Minshan Mountains, approximately 400 kilometers from Chengdu City. Established in 1978, the Reserve covers an area of 60,000 hectares with its name stemming from 9 Tibetan villages nearby.  In 1992, it was listed in the World's Natural Heritage, and three years later, it was included in the International Man and Biosphere Reserve Network of UNESCO. There are mainly three valleies: Zechawa Valley, Shuzheng Valley and Rize Valley. Main sightseeing sites in each valley.
Rize valley:  Primeval Forest, Swan lake, Grass lake, Arrow Bamboo Lake, Panda Lake, Five Flower Lake, Pearl Shoal and Pearl Water Falls, Mirror Lake.
Zechawa Valley: Long Lake, Five - Color Pond, Seasonal Lakes.
Shuzheng Valley: Nuorilang Water Falls, Shuzheng Lakes, Sleeping Dragon Lake, Redd lake.

Zharu Valley, smaller valley, better for trekking and hikking trip, just opened in 2009.

Huanglong, has been acknowledged for its karst features such as travertine pools and limestone shoals, consists of numerous unique landscapes of geological landforms. Glacial revolution, terrane structure, stratum of carbonic acid rock, tufa water and climatic conditions such as artic-alpine sun light have created this world-famous travertine landscape.

Zoige Grassland, is one of the China's three largest wetlands, is an area of meadows, grassland and marshland, covers 7.4 million acres, with many nomadic Tibetan tribes chose to settle. The grassland is flat, immense and sparsely inhabited and is blessed with enticing scenery. The home to primitive forests, valley farmlands, star-stubbed lakes, winding rivers, green grasses, brilliant flowers, various migrant birds and wild animals, as well as Tibetan temples and tents.
