Cellar culture in Pengzhou Museum

With 3000 years old of cellaring, Pengzhou cellaring relics are rare unique in China, the golden & silver cellaring ware has been know as "the first cellar over the world". And Pengzhou, lies at north of Chengdu, about 40KM around, has many cultural attractive sites such as Taoist Mt.Gexianshan.

Legends say: years ago, an old peasant walking in the darkness, suddenly light flashing in front of him. The old look it clearly, "OH, it's a silver rabbit!" the old say, and the light shaped as really a rabbit. The rabbit runs quickly while the old peasant walking close to her, and last the lovely silver rabbit disappeared when the peasant closest to her, at this time, the cellar appeared!

In the fact, in Qinglong village, Zhuwa town, Pengzhou city the cellar founded, where almost 10KM from Sanxingdui Ruins. The unearthed historical relics (unearthing about decades years) are almost 3000 years old (from Shang Dynasty <16th-11st century B.C.> to West Zhou <1122-770 B.C>).

Cellaring relics with different pattern, ancient style, and various shape, cellarage such as tripod, jar, kettle, vessel etc., also bronze dagger-axe, and ancient weapons with birds-shaped decoration. And experts researching many years have not know the meaning of some special symbols in the ware, "Bashu Symbols", some experts name these symbols (Bashu is another name of Sichuan and Chongqing together).

The rare one, Silver Fumigating Stove, for example, made in Song Dynasty (960-1279), 30CM in height and 26CM in diameter, decorated with fine & lively beings such as bird, tortoise, dragon and so on, usage of distinctive sculptures. 

 

Paper-Made Museum in Jiajiang County

The Handy Paper-Made Museum established in 1987, the 1st profissional paper-made museum in China, with building area of 2058 square meters, host about 2300 relics & samples, and the better are 130 pattern & color samples of hand-made paper. It has the statues of Cailun, the founder of Paper-made as well as some rare tablets.

 

Mengshan Tea Museum in Minshan County

Locate at Tiangai Temple, Mt.Mengshan, Minshan county, established in 1986, with 136 relics & samples and many materials about the history of Tea and tea leaf, as well as tea planting and art of Teaing.

 

Zigong Salt Museum

The unique Salt Museum in China, established in 1959, with over 1300 relics and samples about salty history and salty science, and remains one salty well and set of salty instrument and equipment.

 

Qiang Minority Museum

The unique Qiang Minority Museum in Qiangs' history, lies at Fengyi town, Maoxian county, established in 1986, with relics of 1828, and most relics are unearthed relics and some folklore materials from Chunqiu (770-221 B.C.) to West Han (206 B.C. -24 A.D.).

In Pengzhou are many peonies with 1500-year history of peony growth, about 1.5 millions peonies with 260 varieties grown in Pengzhou city now. "Jingyaolou" is the best of all, and grows in Pengzhou only, which won the silver medal on the 1999 Kunming Int'l Horticultural Exposition, and Peonies Festival will be held every year from March to May in Pengzhou, Chengdu, Sichuan province.
