The nature reserve of the Yellow River Delta, located in east China's Shandong Province,  at the mouth of Yellow River, E118°33′~119°20′,N37°35′~38°12′, the closet city is Dongying city, has China’s most completely preserved wetland eco-system, covering 153,000 hectares. Being a “transfer station” for Asian birds during migration, the area has 269 bird species with a total of 4 million birds perched all year round. This Reserve has been an important place for migratory birds from the inland of East Asia and the West Pacific Rim to stop overland propagate. Cranes usually come here to spend the winter at the end of November.

Some rare birds as Red-Crown Crane, Hooded Crane, White Stork, Great Bustard, Saunder′s Gull etc.

Better time to watch birds in Yellow River Delta Nature Reserve: Nov-Mar.
