Jiang Kou Bird island(Niaozhou in Chinese), Jiang Kou birds island is located in the east of Hengnan county, Hengyang city, Hunan Province. The island is in the middle reaches of lei River. In 1984 Jiang Kou bird island was a birds reserve and upgrade as Hunan provincial nature Reserve. 
About 50KM apart from Hengyang city. The birds island covers land area of 35 ha including dry land area of 15 ha and it's radius is 5KM. 
There are 3 islands to form Niaozhou:  Chenjia Island, 96m wide and 780m long, 5.96ha; Longjia Island, 76m wide and 217m long, 1.58ha; Zhangjia Island 150m wide and 595m long, 7.46ha.

 The climate is warm and cool with reservoir nearby, pools, rice fields and forest where birds have rich food and can dwell and multiply very well. All the year round there are 100000 birds with 17 orders 38 families and 181 species. Birds specialists from America, Japan, Holland, German and Canada have sight seeing in the island and it is a miracle and a natural miracle and tourism of the island will has a wonderful protected.

There are three kinds of birds: resident, migrant, traveler.
