Rongcheng Swan Lake  

The Swan Lake in Rongcheng, located Weihai area,  is the biggest living place for swans in the north of China. In winter, thousands of swans gather here, singing and dancing, which draws a magnificent picture.

Wintering birds here are swan, duck, crane etc.

Deep about 2meter for the lake, and about 9ºC for average temperature in Jan.

Better time to watch birds: Nov-Apr

Changdao Birds Nature Reserve  

Situated at the north end of Shandong Peninsula, the Changdao Nature Reserve set up in 1982, covers an area of 5,015 ha. Famous as "a migrant hotel", about 227 species of birds, more than 230 species are migrants, including 41 species of rare birds such as red-crowned crane, white stork, swan, golden eagle and cinereous vulture are under the top national protection. . Changdao Nature Reserve consists of 32 islands, with 140 km length of seashore and 95 km length of north—south distance.

There is the most important one of the three major migratory routes, along which the migrants are coming in spring and leaving in autumn. .

Better time to watch migratory birds: 15Sep-15Oct.
