Wawu Wawushan shan 

Wawu Shan, set up as national forest park in 1993, 102 degrees 51' - 103 degrees 20'E and 29 degrees 31' - 29 degrees 51'N, convers an area of 700 sq km, an isolated table mountain in Hongya county, western Sichuan,  the vast primeval forest on top of the mountain is full of the flavor of primitivity and simplicity. This world of ice and snow in the south will make you fell as if you were in a supernatural fairyland.
The natural conditions of a temperate climate (mean 10.7º C per year), humid air (86-93%) and abundant rainfall (about 2397.4mm per year) are very suitable for amphibians.

31 species of amphibians are founded in the park, belonging to eight families: Hynobidae (1 spp.); Cryptobranchidae (1 spp.); Bufonidae (1 spp.); Hylidae (1 spp.); Pelobatidae (12sp); Ranidae (10 spp.); Rhacophoridae (4 spp.) and Microhylidae (1 spp.). Of these, 11 are new records for the Park and 2 are new species. More surveys are expected to reveal further species.

The rarest birds are: Grey-hooded Parrotbill, Emei Liochichla,  Sichuan Treecreeper, Temminck’s Tragopan, Lady Amherst’s Pheasant, Golden Bush Robin, Golden-fronted Fulvetta, Fire-capped Tit..etc

Fortunately, it was also discovered at Mt. Wawushan at an elevation of 2500m, hightest alt 3522m, and this population is thought to be large and quite stable. It is necessary and important to monitor the variation in this population and analyse  the related factors.

About 278 species of birds, and 13 of them are speical in Wawushan.

Wolong Nature Reserve 
Wolong National Wildlife Nature Reserve located in Wenchuan County, 136km away from Chengdu, covers about 700000 hectares and is at the east foot of Qionglai Mountains where is the transitional region from Qingzang Plateau to Sichuan Basin, 1150-6250m above sea level. In the natural reserve there are about 4,000 species of plants, 50 varieties of beasts, 300 varieties of birds and 29 varieties rare animals including panda. Now it has been listed as a United Nations International Wildlife Reserve.

Better time to watch birds: Apr to Oct
Better place to watch birds: Bipenggou, Balangshan etc.

Emeishan Emei Mountain 

Emei Mountain , covers an  area of 154 sq km, one of China's four sacred Buddhist mountains, lies seven kilometers southwest of Emeishan City and is one of the four mountain ranges in China that Buddhists consider sacred. The mountain stretches more than 200 kilometers from south to north. Its main peak, Golden Summit, is 3099 meters above sea level. 

With 256 species of birds, you can see Emei's special birds, including Emei Shan Liocichla and Grey-hooded Parrotbill, as well as somewhat more widespread species such as Emei Shan Leaf Warbler and Red-winged Laughingthrush etc.

Better time to watch in from Apr to Oct, and usually spend about 3-5days to watch bird from lower to summit.

Rouergai Dzoge Dzoige, Zoige Wet Land 

Rouergai wetland, Dzoge, Dzoige, Zoige, covers an area of more than 1000000 ha, it  distribute in Rouergai county, Hongyuan county in Sichuan and Luchu county, Machu county in Gansu, is the breeding and habitat area for black-necked crane, listed as the important wetland in the world..

And the Rouergai Wetland Nature Reserve, set up in  1998,  located in Rouergai county, covers an area of 166570.6 ha, wetland area 22953 ha, about 13.7% of the Reserve area: marsh area 19892 ha, 11094%; lake area 1233 ha, 0.074%; river area 1828 ha, 1010%.  In reaches of Yellow River, alt from 3422m to 3697m, 102°29′-102°59′E, 33°25′-34°00′N.

There are various kinds of animals and plants and rich resources. National Swamp Dependency, Black-Neck Crane Dependency, Spotted Deer Dependency distribute in the region. Blank-neck crane, Zang mandarin duck, white crane, spotted deer, small panda, etc rare birds and beasts dwell on the dependencies.

The coldest in  Jan and the hottest one in July. The average lowest temperature -10.6ºC  and the absolute lowest tempreture is -33.7ºC; the absolute highest temperature is 24.6ºC, annual  average temperature 0.7ºC. The average rainfall of many years is 656.8mm, mainly from Apr to Oct. The annual average sunlight is 2389 hours and evaporation is 1232mm; the largest wind power is eleven grade, northwest wind.

Main protecting birds as black-necked crane, Ciconia ciconia, Ciconia nigra, swan etc.

Wetlands in Sichuan 
There are about 46000 sq km in Sichuan, such as Rouergai, Meizishan, Adahai, Nichuhe, Qionghai, Lugu Lake, Shizishan, Heilongtan etc 11 wetlands, about 124 species of water birds, 35 species of raptor.
Some birds in protection as following: bis leucocephalus, Ciconia ciconia, Ciconia nigra, Threskiornis aethiopicus, Platalea minor, Butorides striatus, Egretta intermedia, Ixobrychus sinensis, Ixobrychus eurhythmus, Ixobrychus cinnamomeus, Leptoptilos javanicus, Egretta eulophotes, Grus grus, Grus nigricollis, Anthropoides fibgo, Porzana bicolor, Coturnicops noveboracensis, Otis tetrax, Porzana fusca, Gallicrex cinerea, Gallinula chlorpopus, Anser albifrons, Cygnus Cygnus, Cygnus columbianus, Cygnus olor, Aix galericulata, Mergus squamatus, Anser cygnoides, Mergus serrator, Phalacrocorax caubo, Hydrophasianus chirurgus, Rostratula benghalensis, Tringa erythropus, Larus crassirostris, Larus argentatusvegae, Larus brunnicephalus, Sterna hirundo etc.

Siguniangshan Siguniang Mountain  
Siguniangshan, four girls muutain, siguniang mountain, is a national scenic area and nature reserve of China, also named as Oriental Alps, covers an area of 450 sq km, located at 31 degrees of north latitude, 103 degrees of east longitutde, alt from 3000m to 6250m, located in Xiaojin County, Sichuan.

More then 300 species of birds there such as Tibet Pheasant etc,  and better time to watch bird from Apr to Oct. 

Ertan Aves Protect Area  
Located in Yanbian county, Ertan Reservoir, the Reserve covers an area of 103210ha, with about 325 species of birds.
