Shennongjia Nature Reserve
Known as "The Oriental Botanic Garden" and the natural gene bank of biological species, it shelters some of the world’s rare or endangered plants and animals, such as Chinese dove trees, South China tigers, white bears and white snakes.
Here the ecological communities of animals and plants are well preserved, including the ancient rare plants, such as emmenoplerys, Katsura Trees, taxus tissue, and polar trees. Besides, there are thousands kinds of herbs, among which the rhizoma gastrodiae, goldthread root and seven-leaf one-flower are the precious or local herbs. Therefore Shennongjia is reputed as “Garden of Herbs” or “Natural Herb Garden”. It ranks the first in the Middle China in terms of species category and number. Here live 334 types of amniotes and several wild animals under national key protection including golden monkey, south China tiger, leopard, White-crowned Long-tailed Phea. At present, there are

Day01, Arrive Yichang, and pick you up and transfer to Shennongjia Nature Reserve,
to Muyu

Day02, Full day driving and hiking to visit Xiangxi Yuan area
and Qianjiaping, overnight in Muyu.(B/L/D)
Day03, Full day visiting golden monkeys in Dalongtan area and
Xiao longtan area, overnight in Muyu township.(B/L/D)
Day04, Full day visiting Shashuping area for primetive forest
and rare tree plants, overnight in Muyu.(B/L/D)
Day05, Full day visiting in Shennongding area, overnight in
Muyu.(B/L/D)
Day06, Full day visiting hiking in Jinhouling area and its
forests, overnight in Muyu.(B/L/D)
Day07, Full day visiting hiking in Shenongtan area for old

Day08 -Day09, Agian to survey the rare animals, trees, plants,
and other wildlife in Shennongjia area, overnight in

Day10, Drive to Songbai area for the Sample
(species) House, as well as the old Suolo tree, overnight in

Day11, Visit the Scientific Research House and interview with
scientists, visit Shennongjia Museum, overnight in Muyu area.(B/L/D)
Day12, Drive to
train station for your departure.

Shennongjia.

This study tour is more professional for adventure and hiking
for biodiversity in core area of Shennongjia Natural Reserve
(1st section to the central protected area along the Yingyuhe
River Gorge; 2nd section to the central protected nature reserve
for intact forests in Laojunshan area to understand the
biodiversity in Shennongjia area).
Day01, Arrive Shennongjia Nature Reserve, then transfers to Muyu for night. (D)
Day02, Drive and trekking from Bancangcun village, trekking into
Yinggu River valley, about 15KM hiking then arrive Yanjiabao for
tenting night. (B/L/D)
Day03, Hiking and walking across through the river water, about
15KM hiking along the river valley, then arrive Xiaojiawan for
night in tent.(B/L/D)
Day04, Today hiking up into primitive forests for really
expedition the wild nature in both of animal and plants, about
10KM later, overnight in tent at Guanyingdong area.(B/L/D)
Day05, Hiking up Dalongtan area to observing the Golden Monkey,
and overnight in Xiaolongtan area in tent.(B/L/D)
Day06, Hiking up to Shennongding and adventure to Jinhouling
area for Golden Monkey, as well as the plants up to the top, at
last drive to Muyu for night in hostel.(B/L/D)
Day07, (2nd section)Drive and trekking to Huxiandong for night
in tent.(B/L/D)
Day08, Hiking up to Laojunzhai for night in tent after trekking
through wild boar area, in this area, you can watch many wild

Day09, Hiking up about 10km to Laojungdong for night in tent.(B/L/D)
Day10, Laojundong to Caijiafang for night in tent.(b/L/D)
Day11, Trekking down to Xiaodangyang for night in tent, and
adventure in the Primitive Forests, then drive back to Muyu for

Note: If your trip for plants,
better from Apr to Oct, if for wild animals such as Golden Monkey or
White Monkey then all year around available but better in Winter because
the wild animals will go down to lower area for food.
