Azaleas (Rhododendron, Rhododendra, Rhodoendron Indicum,
Rhodo, Azaiea, Dujuan in Chinese), there about 960 species over the world, but
there are about 570 species in China. Most of them originated in
China, and cultivated in Europe and America. And more than 542
species of Rhododendra & Azaleas are only in China.Most azaleas
plants from 1700 to 3700m in altitude.
In China, most of the Rhododendra & Azaleas distributes in
Southwest China, special in the Hengduanshan area (about 245
speices). 245 species in Yunnan, 181 species in Sichuan, 180 in
Tibet (eastern section), total about 480 species in these area.
And then 60 in Guangxi and about 60 in Guizhou.
In Guizhou, there is a Baili Dujuan garden, which are intact
wild primitive azaleas tree, about 1.2-3.5km in width, 50km in
length, 23 kinds of Rhododendra & Azaleas, located in the
juncture of both Dafang county and Qianxi county, about 150 km
from Guiyang.
And another along the 318 Road (Guodao, State road), there are
many many species of azaleas distribution from Shanghai to
Sichuan, Tibet. Along this road are (famous and most
biodiversity) are Gonggashan (Miya Konka), Kangba area, Shanggri-la,
Ganzi area, Gaoligongshan area (187speices), and Eastern Tibet.
Day01, Arrive Shanghai, overnight in 3*
Far-east hotel.(D)
Day02, Shanghai-Guiyang, drive 110km to Qianxi for night in
2* Qian Liancheng hotel (Liancheng binguan) or Qianxi Guest
house, if time permits then drive 30km and walk into Baili
Dujuan (Azalea) Forest Park.(B/L/D)
Day03, Drive and visit Dujuan Azalea
Forest Park around Huangping area, enjoy the azalea kingdom,
foliage, flower, plants, or walk through the Forest if body
permits, and drive back to Guiyang for train T2079 depart at
19:30 to Kunming, overnight in train by soft sleeper.(B/L/D)
Day04, Arrive Kunming at 06:56, visit the Western Hill and
the Dianchi Lake or visit the Kunming Institute of Botany,
Yunnan is the richest province in plant diversity, more than
half of China's 15000 species fo flowering plants are native
here, in the afternoon or evening take flight to Baoshan,
overnight in Baoshan 2* Lanhua hotel.(B/L/D)
Day05, Drive 129km to Mangkuan township, visit the Baihualing nature
area with its hot spring along Zaotanghe River, Sandieshui
Waterfalls, enjoy the various shaped trees, as well as the
canyon of Nu River, overnight in Baihualing Resort.(B/L/D)
Day06 (today need good body with good
energy), Drive and hike up through 6 different climaters
zones from Baihualing to Nanzhaigongfang (3250M), enjoy the
plants, trees, foliage, vegetable, flower, bushes and
animals through jungle, overnight in camp.(B/L/D, ready-food
for lunch and dinner, sleeping bag by yourself).
Day07, Walk down from Nanzhaigongfang to
Linjiapu aling the western slope of Gaoligongshan, enjoy the
morning sunrising and scienery along the road, and at
Linjiapu take car to Tengchong for night in 2* Tengchong
hotel or Xinhua hotel.(B/L/D, ready-food for b'fast and
lunch).
Day08, Full day excursions to volcanic
area such as Dayingshan (2614M), Hekongshan, Taikongshan
etc, and as well as the Geothermy Sea (Tengchong Rehai, 9
square kms), overnight in Tengchong hotel.(B/L/D)
Day09, Excursion to Heshun township with its old town
culture, as well as its scienery, take flight to Kunming,
then flight to Chengdu.(B/L/D)
Day10, Drive to Caoke village for night.(B/L/D)
Day11, Hike up along the Tianwanhe river to Simatang Pool
for lunch, and Huajiaoping for night in local family.(b/L/D)
Day12, Enjoy the azaleas (such as Gongga Azalea) along the
road, to Weisida sisiters village for night in local Tibetan
family.(B/L/D)
Day13, Trek to Gongga monastery () for night, and then trek
down to Liuba village for night.(B/L/D)
Day14, Drive to Kangding for night.(B/L/D)
Day15, Drive to Lithang for night (Also you can drive back
to Chengdu from Kangding, then flight to Beijing for exit or
flight to Lhasa for Azaleas from Lhasa to Nepal), enjoy the
Kangding Azalea on the road, overnight in Lithang.(B/L/D)
Day16, Drive to Mangkhang (3900m) for night in eastern
Tibet, enjy the Azaleas in Hengduanshan area, overnight in
Mangkhang.(B/L/D)
Day17-Day18, Drive 60KM and hike to Honglashan national
nature reserve for the special alps azleas, overnight in
Mangkhang.(B/L/D)
Day19, Drive to Zuogong for night, enjoy the azaleas in the
mountain and valley.(B/L/D)
Day20, Drive to Ranwo Lake for night.(B/L/D)
Day21, Drive 170KM to Chayu for night (fairy land in Tibet,
with richest bio-diversity in Tibet).(B/L/D)
Day22, Drive to visit local Dengba (Tingpa people) village,
as well as the Chayu Rhododendron & Azaleas (Rhododendron
Piercei Davidian, Chayu Dujuan), overnight in Chayu
township.(B/L/D)
Day23, Drive to Midui village (3200m) for night.
Day24, Drive to Bomi for night, enjoy the alpine and river
valley plants and azaleas.(b/L/D)
Day25, Drive to Lingchi for night, and visit the Azaleas in
Sejila (Seqila) Pass area (start about the point of 100KM to
Lingchi), Azalea corridor about 50KM in length, 5 km in
width along the 318 Road, April-June for flowering, altitude
from 2900M TO 5300M, about 25 species of Azaleas.(B/L/D)
Day26, Drive to Lhasa for night.(B/L/D)
Day27, Sightseeing in Lhasa to visit Potala Palace, Jokhang
Templa etc, overnight in Lhasa.(B/L/D)
Day28, Take flight to Beijing.(B)
Quotation (In EUR, per person, 28days, basis of
2persons share one standard room): 8660EUR/p.p., single
supplement: 1100EUR.
